About this deal

You can skip this one. Maybe if we were around the age of 4 and didn't have exposure for too many horror films, this could be creepy at best. But for today standards is just a waste of time, let me tell you why.

You all know of the girl with long hair climbing out of the television to presumably kill or haunt you, well that girl has a name and it’s Sadako. Unlike the first story, you can rest easy as the other episodes don’t come close to how dark the opening of Hanako’s story was and you can see a much lighter mood explored throughout the rest of the series. Sadako’s misadventures actually have a somewhat deeper meaning as she is striving to adapt to the modern era with evolving technologies due to her original medium of transport, the VHS, becoming obsolete. Her first story was rather topical with context to the mid 2010s as we see a mass exodus of the old media much like Sadako herself, trying to survive in their own comfortable media (newspaper, print magazine, broadcast television) and finally being forced to adapt to newer forms of media (internet based publications, YouTube, Netflix) while Sadako instead takes the pornographic approach. The second episode isn’t so serious and is more of an even more ridiculous exploration of new media in VR and how Sadako is able to penetrate through into even the latest technology. I speak in jest of course, this show isn’t scary discounting the initial extremely creepy and extremely realistic rape scene which really makes you think about the safety of your own future children as teachers in real life have been known to abuse their proximity to children as avenues for sexual assault. Besides that slap in the face of the terrifying reality of our world, this show doesn’t try to scare you with these legends. The scariest part about watching and reviewing this show was actually researching these legends and being absolutely terrified by the stories and art I came across online. (seriously don’t google these characters) a b Richie, Donald (2006). Japanese Portraits: Pictures of Different People. Tuttle Publishing. p.85. ISBN 978-0-8048-3772-9. The movie gives us subtle hints about the afformentioned plot-twist, and when I write "Subtle", I really mean it. It was a total "wtf" moment for me on the first time I watched it but by re-watching it, I could link together certain things in the environment that pointed towards the ending that we got. a b White, Paul (21 August 2003). "The Colonel's curse runs deep". USA Today . Retrieved 26 February 2020.Bad Santa: One story features this as the urban legend. He later shows up to kill the students who murdered a classmate and were trying to bury the evidence. For the girl who was on her way to expose their crimes, he pats her on the head an says she's been a good girl this year. Philip, Neil (1999). It was a very entertaining nevertheless and I committed the error of watching it in the morning, the sound effects and the obscurity of some scenes were perfectly matched for a dark evening visualization. Philbrook, Scott (co-host); Burgess, Forrest (co-host); Meyer, Matthew (guest) (14 October 2018). "Ep 121: Yokai Horrors of Japan" (Podcast). Astonishing Legends . Retrieved 8 August 2019. This story tells about the curse of the horror movie or the famous Urban Legend is Sadako. Because of technological advances and world developments, Sadako is beginning to be forgotten and she loses the power to be her ghost. To restore her strength, she had to make a new promotional video by debuting a porn video with a man she had just met after she left the TV. The voices are ok, though sometimes come off as a little stale or strict. I believe this is more because of the culture gap between the Japanese subs and what I’m used to hearing. This is where the 'innovation' strikes in, it's in the section that most modern hentai's struggle with the most, the story. Premise wise it's hard to define it, but overall it is just an episodic series of ghost stories. So yes, a harem. However what strikes as the most impressive is the final episode which brings all of this to an head. In harem stories you typically have two types, 1. being a self-contained episode by episode harem or 2. where the harem takes place in one location. Either type is great if used correctly but what makes Toshi Densetsu so special is the fact that it does both. Each episode is self-contained, with there being a new heroine each episode (besides 2 and 5 which share the same one). Yet they manage to bring these self-contained stories into one for the final. And believe it or not, it is not forced and legitimately ties in with what happened in the story. Toshi Densetsu could've easily gotten away with not bringing continuity to the series, but decided to elevate themselves and the series to a greater point, which is why it deserves my praise. If you’re familiar with the recent Japanese horror cinema scene, you’ll know more or less what to expect here.

bad animated and badly drawn in some scenes and reminded me of those animated bodies of the first Resident Evil game days, if you know what I mean. Nugent, Addison (2019-10-28). "The Ghosts Who Hailed Taxis". OZY. Archived from the original on 2022-09-21 . Retrieved 2022-09-19. de Vos, Gail (2012). What Happens Next? Contemporary Urban Legends and Popular Culture. Libraries Unlimited. ISBN 978-1598846331. The Christmas Episode has the cruel students who killed the kind student associated with Santa were themselves killed by the Bad Santa. Repeat" has the people attending the karaoke event drugged before they're killed. Sayaka notes that it's appropriate, since the men there were planning to drug and take advantage of the women.Mary’s story, as I’ve expressed, feels like the most boring concept in the entire series. Here you have these well-known figures such as Sadako which has been ingrained in pop culture and has even spread to other cultures such as being the inspiration of the Ring Girl for instance. Mary’s story of being the doll rejected doesn’t come out at all and her story feels as generic as hentai stories come and instead feels below the average in this series which is sorta disappointing but in 6 individual stories you can’t expect them all to be a homerun

I like the moaning there compared to the first episode, ha ha.
