About this deal

Whilst following the instructions carefully, if you do happen to make an error with EASYJoint, don’t worry, the only stain or picture framing that the jointing compound may potentially leave is linseed oil which will disappear and fade over time. By using lots of water when brushing the product in, it will ensure that any linseed oil will sit on top and simply get washed away! Detailed instructions on how to joint paving with our sweep in sand can be found inside the EASYJoint tub.

It works in exactly the same way as the Sika FastFix but I feel is beaten simply on price. You get about 15% better value for money on the Sika range and given Sika is a faultless product, I can’t justify the extra spend. Especially when a tub will give about 7m2 of coverage with big joints, so it can soon add up if you have a decent sized patio. Less water is needed when applying EASYJoint to porcelain paving, as there is little risk of residue staining. You will find that a small amount of water, added to form it into a slurry, will make it easier to fill the joints properly. When applying to porcelain, to ensure an effective joint, the operator MUST strike the joint off, to compact the grout fully. Compaction forces out air and water which helps the joint harden faster. EASYJoint is a very effective, super fast and aesthetically pleasing way to fill/complete joints between paving materials including slabs and pavers for example. EASYJoint works 10-20 times faster than conventional mortar and it can be installed in rain or dry sunshine. When used with water, it offers a mark free paving solution and a solid join that will last for years to come. EASYJoint, as the name implies, prides itself on being a product that is easy to use.The end results will be a perfect joint that is fully filled without need for kneeling and compressing the material by hand that will last for years and years. One thing you should watch for when using this compound is the drying time. I have seen anything up to just under a week for it to be fully cured. So if you’ve laid new stone on sand I would give a little time to settle anyway. It won’t be a problem if it rains though, this product holds up just fine. Another quality alternative to Sika: Jointing Compound Stone Grey Easy Joint 12.5 Kilo Patio Mortar EASYJoint is available in a selection of 5 colours which is one of it's main selling points. Whatever your project, there is a colour suitable for it. Joint-IT has comparable colours, but only in 3 out of 5 colours. It's important to note that the two products aren't interchangeable, so if you've already started a project with one, you can't simply switch to the other, but the colours are a very similar with 3 of the ranges. Subject to the other provisions of these conditions, Building & DIY Supplies shall not be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss (all three of which terms include, without limitation, pure economic loss, loss of profits, loss of business, depletion of goodwill and similar loss), costs, damages, charges or expenses caused directly or indirectly by any delay in the delivery of the Goods. Wet the Paving. Thoroughly soak the patio or paved area to be jointed with lots of water using a hose. The paving must be absolutely saturated before starting and remain soaked throughout the application process ‘the wetter, the better.’ We strongly recommend not shortcutting this process, particularly when working with absorbent or sensitive materials such as Sandstone, Granite and Limestone. Highly absorbent and porous stone will require sealing, 2-3 days prior to laying, on its top surface and four edges. Do not use a pressure washer on the paving for at least 4 weeks after EASY Joint’s application. Always use a fan type nozzle at a 45 degree angle and no closer than 15 cms / 6 inches to avoid removing the jointing material from between your slabs. Is EASYJoint suitable for patios and driveways? Top Up Low Spots. Use more EASY Joint to top up any low spots in your joints, repeating the washing process as described previously. This is the most popular colour option within the EASYJoint range. It goes well with light and dark paving slabs and is suitable for almost any project Joint-IT Neutral - Alternative:

This is a relatively new product and I’m always apprehensive to bring in new products but this is worth a shout especially since they know exactly what they are up to: In dry conditions and warm temperatures and humidity, EASYJoint should be firm enough to walk on within 24 hours and will cure hard within a few days. Driveway Jointing Mortar - High Strength Epoxy Resin Paving Grout - suitable for vehicle areas up 3.5 tonnes You’ll probably want one tub if you have a patio around 15m2. I know they say you can get 20m2 but if you have wider and deeper joints then it’ll not go as far. My patio area is about 6 metres by 4 metres and I used two tubs to give you an idea of my experience. Patio grout plays a huge role in reducing the amount of maintenance and time needed on your garden patio. There’s nothing worse than weeds growing through old grout on a weekly basis, forever spraying weed killer to keep them at bay as well as pouring in ant treatment to keep them from digging up sand too. And let’s not forget the important role of patio sealer thereafter that creates a hard layer with the grout! Patio grout looks great but also stops weeds and ants coming throughThe jointing compound wants a 3mm gap (no problem if much larger like 10mm) and in their example they want to highlight an inch depth, despite being a new install, they will still want you to go an inch down on your old patio – this is pretty much the standard and whilst it never guarantees you hold weeds and insects at bay, you give yourself the best possible chance! Any dates specified by Building & DIY Supplies for delivery of the Goods are intended to be an estimate and time for delivery shall not be made of the essence by notice. If no dates are so specified, delivery shall be within a reasonable time. We cannot overly stress how important it is to use plenty of water before, during and after the application of EASY Joint. A hose with a fan type nozzle is perfect. Does EASYJoint stain sensitive & porous paving slabs? As the name implies, EASYJoint is easy to use – simply soak the paving with water before commencing and then simultaneously sweep and wash the jointing compound into the joints, letting the water take the strain.
