About this deal

Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. A lot of the scenes are set around food, which makes perfect sense since the two main characters are chefs.

I’m also a sucker for any book that has a good enemies-to-lovers romance, and this one certainly delivered with the bumpy road to love between Meg and Justin.I bet you’re sitting there thinking, ‘Oh, here she goes again with her I-don’t-know-if-I-wanted-to-smack-him-or-climb-him-like-a-tree thing again!

She has reckoned without Justin, the son of the hotel owner, however, who seems determined to take over the running of the kitchen. I also took rather a liking to motorbike-riding Justin, stomping around in his black leathers with a smell of petrol and road dust…. v=1623356839","options":["Title"],"media":[{"alt":null,"id":23410848006299,"position":1,"preview_image":{"aspect_ratio":0. v=1642608568","options":["Title"],"media":[{"alt":null,"id":25984385745051,"position":1,"preview_image":{"aspect_ratio":0.The new chef has sacked everyone and Louise, Meg’s mother, needs her daughter’s help, and she needs it NOW. Nightingale Woods Hotel is quaint and charming, but stuck firmly in the past and in need of some TLC. All things considered, One Enchanted Evening by Katie Fforde is an exceptional novel that should be read by all lovers of romance fiction books! The hotel was brought to life perfectly and I had no trouble imagining myself staying there in one of the charming rooms.

Everything is going rather well, with the Nightingale Woods' team pulling together like a little family, until the arrival of Andrew's son Justin, who has very firm ideas about what should be happening at the hotel while his father is away. Some characters were only mentioned in passing and then given a name, as though for the sake of giving them a name (Clover?v=1611672937","options":["Title"],"media":[{"alt":null,"id":16947383468187,"position":1,"preview_image":{"aspect_ratio":0.

Such that near the climax I just felt like we were just going through plot-point to plot-point without addressing the emotional beats alongside it. Everything about this book beautifully evokes rural 1960s England, and Fforde does a lovely job of immersing you in the world of a family business struggling to keep up with the modern age. This is definitely a good bit of escapism for the spring and would also make a perfect holiday read. On reading this book, it's easy to see why Katie has had such a great writing career; One Enchanted Evening is a book which many many people will enjoy. Despite having a confirmed opportunity to experience a professional kitchen in a French restaurant, Meg takes control of the hotel’s kitchen even though the owner’s son views her through misogynistic eyes. This is another one of Katie Fforde’s books that are set in the 19602, and like the previous 2 “A Wedding In The Country’ and “A Wedding In Provence”, it just doesn’t’ really work, and I really can’t just say why, but I think the main issue that it doesn’t have the sparkle and wit of Katie Fforde’s previous book. My thanks to Courtney Jefferies from edpr and the publishers for the proof and finished copies and the place on the tour.
